RECORDING:
$40 per hour (Engineer incl.) 2 HOUR MINIMUM
Recording time is exactly that, we set up microphones, plug things in, and make you comfortable. We want you comfortable and having fun, so you do what you came here to do - to capture your songs in their best possible versions. We take extra care getting each step of the process right, without thoughts of "fixing things" later. If we get it right from the beginning, we don't have to fix it. And it's REAL. It's YOU.
MASTERING:
$50 per song
Let's get this right out in the open. We aren't mastering experts. Mastering is an art and craft in and of itself, and with that out of the way, we don't do a bad job! We can get your mixes radio and internet ready, and we can even do CD's. But when it comes to Vinyl, we would prefer you go with a dedicated professional mastering facility.
MIXING:
$75/song or $40/hour
Mixing works two ways, we can either do it on OUR time (Unattended) for a flat rate per song, or we can do it with you here for our same low hourly rate (Attended). Both have advantages and disadvantages, but both will result in a mix that you will love and want to share with the world. We will be happy to discuss this with you at length during your session.
Kemper Profiling
$120 per amplifier
Sure, you can do it yourself, just like you can do your own recording yourself. How does that work out for you? Profiling a Kemper takes skill, good microphones and preamps. With tubes putting tube amps in peril, it's time for you to consider modeling, so you can use your tube amp in perpetuity live, and save it for recording on occasion. We can also BAKE IN your favorite fuzz and overdrive pedals! Trust us, it sounds unbelievably great, and once you cross that bridge, you'll be glad you did!! Let us help you preserve your beloved gear! We will make MULTIPLE profiles so you will have a ton of options at your disposal, and you won't have to worry about wishing you tweaked something a little more.
STARTER RECORDING PACKAGES
All of these packages are economically priced for bands that are starting out, and/or that are looking to save some money and get GREAT recordings for their songs. Being that, all of your instruments will sound as they are, and we will work to get them sounding the absolute best. We can experiment with house amps and instruments if yours aren't up to par. As part of these pakages, there will be no reamping, drum replacement, etc. We will spend time at the beginning of the session getting things sounding great with each of your instruments. Many bands have released albums using these packages and have gotten played on commercial radio.
A) Complete Album Package -- $1350
10-12 songs recorded & mixed - Includes 16 hours (2 days) studio time (This INCLUDES mixing time during scheduled sessions). In house mastering - includes 2 Redbook Audio Masters with encoded ISRC Codes and CD Text, We suggest you record LIVE as a group to save time (we think it's the best way anyway.) Includes "Unattended" mixing; 2 edits per mix. Time over will be charged at our normal studio rate of $40/hour. NOTE: includes RECORDING, MIXING & MASTERING.
B) Complete EP Package -- $600
5 songs - Includes 8 hours (1 day) studio time (This INCLUDES mixing time during scheduled sessions). We suggest you record LIVE as a group to save time (we think it's the best way anyway.) Includes "Unattended" mixing; 2 edits per mix. Time over will be charged at our normal studio rate of $40/hour. NOTE: includes RECORDING & MIXING.
C) Complete DEMO Package -- $450
4 songs - Includes 8 hours (1 day) studio time (This INCLUDES mixing time during scheduled sessions), We suggest you record LIVE as a group to save time (we think it's the best way anyway.) Includes "Unattended" mixing; 2 edits per mix. Time over will be charged at our normal studio rate of $40/hour. (For tight bands!) NOTE: includes RECORDING & MIXING.
D) Studio Package 1 -- $300
2 songs — Includes 6 hours studio time (This INCLUDES mixing time during scheduled sessions). We suggest you record LIVE as a group to save time (we think it's the best way anyway.) Includes "Unattended" mixing; 2 edits per mix. Time over will be charged at our normal studio rate of $40/hour. (For tight and prepared bands!) (THIS COULD BE CONSIDERED OUR "DEMO" PACKAGE ) NOTE: includes RECORDING & MIXING.
E) Studio Package 2 -- $150
Record 1 song in its' entirety and have it quickly mixed and mastered, just so you can try us out! (NOTE: this song will be recorded LIVE with a few overdubs and then mixed and mastered.) Max 4 hours (This INCLUDES mixing time during scheduled sessions). Time over 4 hours will be charged at our normal studio rate of $40/hour. (For tight and prepared bands!)
TERMS / DEPOSITS:
TO BOOK A SESSION, 50% deposit is required to reserve your time and the remainder is due upon completion (see below for deposit details). NOTE: you pay for any hourly sessions at the end of each scheduled day. Cash is welcome or we take VISA / MASTERCARD with 2.75% processing fee.
Deposits are required to guarantee your date. We suggest you bring it with you (just in case) during a scheduled site visit. Weekend time goes FAST. DEPOSITS CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED TO OTHER DATES IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE DATE SCHEDULED.
Deposits and 100% Prepays may be cash in person, or mail with check/money order — or you can call us with a credit/debit card.
Our policy for refunds of deposits are (times given from the date you receive our receipt acknowledgement:)

Analog Tape Rental -- $50/per reel
ACR uses Ampeg 456 GRAND MASTER (and similar) 1/2" analog tape. We have tape that is in great condition that has been used at least 1x before. This tape has been fully erased prior to your use. The sound quality is still great but not like new VIRGIN tape. Still, since we mostly use it for fatter instruments (drums and bass) without tons of high frequency information, it is still VERY usable, and we would even venture to say - downright awesome. You can usually get a good 20-25 minutes worth of material on one of these tapes, so consider this when anticipating costs.*
USED Analog Tape Purchase -- $85/per reel

NEW Analog Tape Purchase ONLY -- MARKET PRICE (click link below)
ACR uses RMGI 1/2" x 2500 ft tape, made in the USA. This tape is made and calibrated to EXACTING specifications of the Ampeg 456 (which is no longer manufactured). We would usually only encourage the use of these tapes for higher-budget projects, but if you're a purist and want the BEST quality possible, this is definitely the way to go. You can either have ACR store the tapes here, or take them with you. We will educate you on proper storage of Audio Reel Tapes. Like the used vintage tapes, you can usually get a good 20-25 minutes worth of material on each these tapes, so consider this when anticipating costs. NOTE: we try to keep a small supply of new tapes here, but sometimes RMGI runs out and is backordered. Please give us plenty of lead time if you are considering this.

MIXING & REVISIONS
There are pros and cons to our HYBRID analog and digital studio. In some cases, we are able to recall some settings, but not most. ACR allows for 2 (two) revisions per song per project as part of our standard mixing services. Once mixes have been approved, mastered and sent to client - project is considered finished.
It is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to listen to the mixes we send you on more than one device, so you are able to clearly and consicesly give us feedback. We ask that you are very careful and thoughtful about your revisions, and that if you are working with a group, to try and arrive at a group consensus.
For any further mixing or revisions, ACR must set up from scratch - so we must charge either a bulk or per song rate based upon what is needed.
